Join Us

Piping Rock Singers rehearses on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 2353 Rice Blvd in Houston, TX. Additional rehearsals are scheduled around concerts as needed. A typical rehearsal ends with refreshments and socializing.

The income generated by performances is used to purchase music, rent performance space, fund retreats and master classes, and pay our director's stipend. The use of these funds is discussed and voted upon by the entire group.

New members join the group through "working auditions." Please contact the Music Director, T J Hoffman, to schedule a time to sing through a rehearsal with us.

Responsibilities of Performers

• Learning music at a reasonable pace. Each section is responsible for sectional rehearsals when extra work is needed.

• Attending rehearsals regularly and informing the group of schedule conflicts in a timely manner.

Group Goals

• Developing a reputation within the community.

• Improving sightreading skills and musicianship.

• Increasing complexity of repertoire.

• Enhancing group showmanship.
